Jordan hosts workshop on writing project proposals

Oct 4, 2016

A workshop on project proposal writing within the WaSe component of the WATER SUM project was held on September 26, 2016, in Amman, Jordan. The workshop was moderated by Danko Aleksic (REC) and Sameeh Al Nuimat (IUCN ROWA). The main objectives of the workshop were to:

  • introduce the document Guidance for the Preparation of Project Proposals for Priority Investments, which was developed by the REC for local coordinators and local focal points;
  • train local coordinators to properly understand the instructions provided in the guidance document during the phase of writing project proposals; and
  • discuss draft local water security action plans (LWSAPs), and especially the lists of priority actions for each of the four municipalities currently involved in the project (Al Salt, Al-Karak, Jerash and Ajloun).

The trainers stressed the importance of the guidance document, especially the provisions related to supporting documents that are compulsory for project proposal submission and deadlines.

The event was organised by the REC and supported by IUCN Regional Office for West Asia (IUCN ROWA), and brought together participants from the four participating municipalities.
